Shape The Future Of Your Industry
As a member of Montana Contractors’ Association (MCA) your firm will join over 350 firms that are shaping the future of Montana.

Publications/Documents
All MCA members are also members of our national association, the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). Through MCA and AGC, you will receive timely and useful information about the industry, matters affecting it, and your business. MCA’s newsletters include: The Montana Contractor News (monthly), the Plans Report (weekly), and other mailings as needed. AGC has a biweekly newsletter and the monthly CONSTRUCTOR magazine. MCA maintains a growing set of contract documents, safety videos, and other AGC publications to help members in any contract situation. The office maintains a complete set of the Montana Codes Annotated and the Montana Administrative Rules. MCA subscribes to the Montana Administrative Register to help keep members fully informed of the laws and administrative rules affecting the industry. We also have a small professional library.

Legislation
• MCA lobbies for increased construction work in Montana, both public and private; highway, utility and building; and for the ability of a construction company to make a profit. MCA is urging reasonable safety programs, reasonable drug testing and other pro-business legislation.

• MCA lobbies against issues that take away your choices as an employer, against unfair environmental legislation, against unfair workers compensation issues, against unfair and repressive labor legislation and against unfair business practices.

• MCA lobbies at the national, state, county and city levels all across Montana, urging fair treatment for construction firms, getting government out of the construction business, and getting more work bid out to private contractors.

• MCA is the principal liaison with the Montana Department of Highways, the State
Division of Architecture and Engineering, the State Department of Health and Humna Services, the Department of Commerce, the Governor’s office and other state agencies. We also are the principal liaison for a number of federal agencies.

Opportunity to participate
• Our annual convention in January features informative seminars and presentations, a look ahead to the coming year and lots of fun.

• Our mid-summer golf tournament is a chance to break away for two days each summer, combining a great social event with a little business.

• The evening prior to Montana Department of Transportation bid letting, the Associate Members host a cocktail party at the MCA office in Helena.
