Member Benefits

The MCA was built by Montana contractors, for Montana contractors. As one of the strongest trade associations in Montana, and in fact, the country, the MCA’s mission is to deliver value and opportunity to our member firms.

Who are our members?

The MCA family is comprised of businesses that derive their livelihood in whole, or in part, from the construction industry. Member classifications include:

General Contractors: These are construction companies that operate 50 percent or more as prime contractors.

  • General contractors focused on industrial, institutional or commercial building.
  • Highway contractors working on highways, streets, roads, bridges and tunnels.
  • Heavy/Industrial contractors focused on power, communications, transmission, excavation and industrial non-building structures.
  • Ready Mix contractors working in the fields of concrete production and distribution.
  • Visiting contractors who pay AGC-A dues in other states and have occasional projects in Montana.

General/visiting contractor members have full MCA voting rights and are eligible for benefits and services (criteria apply).

Specialty Contractors: These are construction companies that usually contract to general contractors or owners for specialized work on a specific portion of a project. Specialty contractors work mostly on construction sites, but may have shops offsite for prefabrication and other work.

These members have no voting rights or access to the MCA Healthcare/Retirement Trusts. However, they may apply to qualify for the Montana Contractors Compensation Fund. In addition, specialty contractors have the option of paying dues at general contractor member rates in order to receive full MCA membership benefits.

Associates: Firms that supply materials, products equipment or services (i.e. construction materials manufacturer, banking/financial partners, equipment dealers and repair facilities, consultants/professional service providers).
Associates are non-voting members.

How to join: Complete the MCA Membership Application and contact Nicole at (406) 442-4162, or nicole@mtagc.org, for dues information. Membership packets are also available upon request.
