Workers’ Compensation

The Montana Contractors Compensation Fund (MCCF) is a self-insured fund that provides workers’ compensation insurance coverage for the employees to many MCA-member companies. To qualify, a company must:

  • be a current, dues-paying contractor member or specialty contractor member of MCA.
  • have an Experience Modification Rate of less than 1.1.
  • have a three-year average loss ratio of less than 65 percent.
  • have an annual premium of more than $5,000 per year.
  • provide reviewed financial statements if annual premium is less than $1 million.
  • provide audited financial statements if annual premium is $1 million or more.
  • undergo a pre-admission risk assessment

MCCF also offers proactive programs designed to meet the unique challenges presented by the construction industry, including early-return-to-work and safety.

Since the fund’s establishment, $30 million has been refunded to participating members!
